Azafatas Alhambra meets the needs of the customers by selecting personnel with the most appropriate requirements:
We can offer you a team of hostesses and stewards with an excellent appearance, extensive experience and good cultural level. In their job facing the public they stand out for other essential qualities: initiative, resolute attitude, efficiency, responsibility, punctuality and great capacity for communication.
Our staff speak different languages, among which we should emphasize: English, French, German and Italian, as well as others. They also have working knowledge of IT: word processors, spreadsheets, databases, presentation programmes, design programmes, etc.
In order to achieve optimum results, our method is to carry out a detailed study of the action required, as well as to make a meticulous selection. Therefore, Azafatas Alhambra makes a study of the type of event required and a strategic plan of action for the development of the logistics: placement of the promotion, types of hostesses, programme for accompanying members, etc., as well as an estimate of costs. Hostesses will be carefully selected and if the customer wishes, he can give his approval of the selection. The hostesses will be given a briefing of the promotion.
In the specific case of publicity promotions and similar events, the client may have precise information on the development of the action.
There will be constant supervision of the hostesses and reports will be made of incidents and progress. An overall report will be made on finishing the campaign.
Azafatas Alhambra can offer a wide variety of uniforms, in order to adapt to the logo of your firm, company colours, or your requirements.

It is essential to pay maximum attention to details to ensure a really successful event. So we take charge of:
The difference lies in the way of communicating: interpretation is oral, whereas translation is written. Interpreting is a live job, therefore an interpreter's knowledge of the language is as important as his ability to communicate, together with the speed of reply in a conversation. A translator may take longer to give a translation of the text that has been assigned, depending on the urgency with which it is required.
Normally both interpreters and translators work better into their mother tongue. Although some people may work as well both as translators or interpreters, the majority are specialised in just one of these activities.
To meet the requirements of communication in all types of events and situations, Azafatas Alhambra supplies the most advanced technology and the best professional people in the field of interpretation.
We have a team of interpreters of extensive experience, specialised in many different fields, and with specific preparation in all techniques of interpretation.
Consult us and we will advise you on the type of interpretation that meets your requirements best, as well as advising you on the technical equipment that you would need.
We can offer simultaneous and consecutive interpretation, liaison and escort interpreting, sworn interpreting, etc.
Is the most appropriate type for events with public who speak many languages (courses, press conferences, seminars, conferences, meetings and congresses), in which various languages are used and fluid and rapid communication is necessary. Simultaneous interpretation reaches each listener almost immediately.
Interpreters sit inside insulated booths and hear the speaker through specialised headsets at the same time as they translate, therefore the conference participants receive the interpretation of the speech with a small time-lag of a few seconds.
Inside the booth there will usually be two interpreters working together, taking turns approximately every 30 minutes, to avoid over-tiredness or lack of concentration. While one of the interpreters is working, the other one collaborates by providing information or terminology or communicating some organizational problem.. Therefore, except for very short functions or ceremonies (maximum 40 minutes), a simultaneous interpreter should not work alone.
Their work is a complex activity requiring the use of highly advanced technology, consisting of insulated booths, receivers, headsets, microphones, transmitters, mixing desks, ... On some occasions TV monitors may be necessary to provide a complete view of the hall, especially if slides or transparencies are projected.
Alhambra Hostesses will provide all of the audio equipment: microphones, headsets, sound technicians, projectors, booths, etc.
In a multilingual conference, it may occur that the interpreter of a language does not understand directly the language of the speaker, in which case he must translate the message that another interpreter is giving. This system is called relay interpreting.
(However, it is always recommended that when a conference, course or meeting is multilingual, in all booths there should be direct interpretation from the (speaker's) original language, also each interpreter should translate into his/her mother tongue respectively. In this way there is no loss of information, the lapse of time between the speech and interpretation is minimal, and the fluidity of expression and concepts of the interpreter are better than in the relay system).
Simultaneous interpreting offers the following advantages:
Within this type of simultaneous interpretation, infoport equipment is used more and more frequently. This system does not need to use booths, but the interpreter may be placed a short distance from the speaker and will translate the speaker's talk in a low tone of voice by means of a cordless microphone. To hear this, listeners will have a small receiver with a portable headset.
Interpretation via infoport equipment is more flexible and does not require such a complex technical team as for simultaneous interpretation, and it allows for simultaneous interpretation in acts requiring moving about.
Interpretation using infoport equipment offers the following advantages:
This is used in particular for press conferences and short meetings with a smaller number of participants.
In consecutive interpretations, the interpreter sits next to the speaker (without the aid of earphones), who will make brief pauses in his conversation, therefore allowing the interpreter to translate bit by bit. If there is a very long talk the interpreter can take notes, as it would be impossible to memorize the whole of the talk.
Consecutive interpreting offers the following advantages:
The only inconvenience is that it slows down the rhythm of the presentation, as well as making it less natural. It is preferable in the case of small groups.
The interpreter is beside the participant and whispers a summary of what the speaker is saying.
It is a type of simultaneous interpretation and is used for a small number of people, as the interpreter "whispers" the translation to 2 or maybe 3 listeners. It is also combined with consecutive interpreting if the users of this method wish to communicate an idea. For larger groups portable equipment, called infoport, can be used; this consists of a microphone and headsets for the listeners.
Visits, trade fairs, exhibitions.
The client will be accompanied by an interpreter, who will translate everything that the speaker needs.
An interpreter translates/interprets in short business negotiations or for informal meetings where there is a reduced number of people who speak different languages and are from different cultures; they are accompanied during their visit to businesses, firms, etc.
This type of service may also need interpreting for technical courses, or need escorting for foreign delegations or for trade fairs or other events.
Unlike consecutive interpreting, the interpreter intervenes briefly without interrupting the talk of the speakers, and interprets in both languages.
The interpreter provides communication between two or more people by telephone.
This consists of interpreting by means of teleconference or videoconference systems. It tends to be used for international conferences between clients, suppliers, members in different countries, etc.
for official affairs, courts or public notarial acts, civil weddings where the presence is required of a "sworn interpreter/translator".
Translating documents in real time; during meetings, negotiations or the preparation of very urgent projects, it is necessary to have an idea of what certain documents say, without having to do a formal translation. For such occasions we offer the possibility of having an interpreter who can, as he is working, give an explanation of the documents that are being dealt with.
Is it necessary to have sound technical equipment?
A technical sound equipment allowing listeners to hear the interpreter through headsets in a different language is only used in the case of simultaneous interpretation.
In the case of a client having technical equipment, it is advisable that the operating capacity is checked on prior to the interpreting session, to avoid "last minute surprises". Apart from the technical equipment, an installation technician is needed to guarantee the correct working of the equipment.
To the contrary, Azafatas de Congresos Alhambra can provide both the sound team as well as the installation technician for cases of simultaneous interpretation.
A professional technician must also be available in the hall, to control correct functioning of equipment constantly, together with an assistant for mounting and dismounting.
A) Interpreting booths:
Booths for simultaneous interpreting may be fixed or moveable, and must conform with the requisite minimum rules ISO 4043 and DIN 56924 that guarantee adequate soundproofing and visibility to facilitate the interpreters' work.
The booths must be of an ample size and have the following technical conditions:
1. Initially one booth per interpreter will be necessary. It must be checked that the booths comply with the ISO rules regarding dimensions, ventilation and lighting.
2. Separate acoustics for the different languages spoken simultaneously, without any interference between the languages interpreted or with the speaker in the hall.
3. Efficient reciprocal communication between the booths and conference hall; from the booths the interpreters must have good visibility of the speakers, and if necessary of the projection screen.
4. Each booth must be equipped with one or several consoles and each interpreter must be supplied with his/her own microphone, volume control switch, headset and individual lamp.
5. Comfortable working conditions that facilitate the intense effort of concentration needed for the interpreters' work.
B) Infrared equipment for simultaneous translation.
The system of simultaneous translation via infrared beamers works by means of emitting infrared lighting. This system guarantees an unfailing excellent quality of sound, as it is impossible to receive the signal from outside the precincts, therefore guarantees complete confidentiality.
Azafatas de Congresos Alhambra S.L. has a translation service of documents in general. We have a sizeable team of professional translators with ample experience and specialised in different fields.
Once we have received your documents, we will send you an individual estimate, with no commitment on your part, giving the delivery date, cost per word and total cost. Once you have accepted this estimate, a translator or group of them who are experts in the subject dealt with in the text, will be assigned by fax. When the translation has been finished, a team of revisers will give a semantic, linguistic and morphological check-over, as well as monitoring the final presentation of the translation. This may be in any format: Word, Pdf, Excel, Flash, ...
Sworn Translating: this is a requisite for public documents such as contracts, minutes, certificates, technical certifications, judicial settlements, entries in registry offices, etc.
This is an official translation that is valid for the public administration, and is the only way to accredit the validity of a document in a country where the official language is not the same as the language of the original text. A sworn translation guarantees that the contents of both documents (original and translation) fully correspond.
In these cases, the translation must be signed and stamped by a translator with the title of Sworn Translator and Interpreter, authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
LEGALISATION OF DOCUMENTS:
THE HAGUE APOSTILLE
